Trombone Pianist

Timothy End is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music. He is much sought after as a chamber musician. A multiple first-prize winner, Timothy was awarded both the Pianist Prize and Jean Meikle Duo Prize at the Wigmore Hall Song Competition. Further prizes include the Accompanists’ Prize at the Maureen Lehane Vocal Awards, the Parnell Award for an Accompanist at the ROSL Annual Music Competition, the Gerald Moore Award and the MBF Accompanist Prize at the Kathleen Ferrier Competition. He has appeared on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune with the horn player Richard Watkins, violinist Fenella Humphreys and mezzo sopranos Rebecca Afonwy-Jones and Marta Fontanals-Simmons. He has recorded the world premiere of Ninfea Cruttwell-Reade’s Reginald for the Presteigne Festival. Timothy works regularly with the Ferio Saxophone Quartet and their CD, including arrangements of the Carmen Suite and Shostakovich Jazz Suite by Iain Farrington, was recently released on the Chandos label. They have performed together at Champs Hill, Kendal, Dumfries as well as part of the Absolute Classics series in Scotland. Recently Timothy performed with the trombonist Ian Bousfield in Wells and York. He performed with the mezzo Marta Fontanals-Simmons at this year’s Presteigne Festival. Timothy is the accompanist of the Philharmonia Chorus and the City of London Choir.
